Welcome to the official page of LIVESNOTKINVES. LNK is a growing knife campaign, which was started at the 19th of March 2021, in order to raise awareness to the dangers behind knife crime. Just last year a devastating number of 43,000 were affected from knife crime from just England and Wales. Keep in touch with the LNK website to help us make a change.
Meaning behind the Name
Here at LiveNotKnives we believe this is more than just an anti knife campaign, this is a lifestyle. Being able to walk down our roads with not a worry in our minds is something we all want, but most importantly something we all need. How many times have we all been walking down a dark path, wondering if these are our last steps? We need a change and together we can make one.

Reality behind the tragedy

Hussain Ahmed Chaudhry
Hussain Ahmed Chaudhry was killed on the 17th of March 2021 outside his home in Leyton, London, in an altercation that saw his mother and brother's hands slashed with a knife.
The family were selling designer clothing worth a few hundred pounds when two people allegedly launched an attack in an effort to steal them.
A neighbour, who did not want to be named, described how the attacker was punched in the face before he grabbed a jacket and fled.
The thug was thought to have ordered a taxi before deciding to run across rooftops at around 5.20pm.
Reiss Chaudhry said his nephew died in his mother's arms after defending her from the knifeman.
Hussain's mother and brother, who were both injured in the attack, are recovering at Royal London Hospital.
Nedim Bilgin
Nedim Bilgin, 17, Islington, north London, 29 January
Aged just 17, Bilgin was stabbed by at least two other teenagers just a few hundred yards from his home in Caledonian Road, Islington, north London. Attempts were made to save his life but he died at the scene at around 7pm. Five arrests were made, including two boys, aged 16 and 17, who were arrested near to the scene on suspicion of murder on the night. Later, three more men were arrested, aged 18, 18 and 22, and have since been released on bail. Speaking after his death, Bilgin’s father, Nusret, said: “He was a wonderful boy; we are devastated. He went out on his bike and never came home.” He said his “baby boy” had been led astray by “bad friends”.

The Statistics
Statistically, from just as close as 2018 the total knife committed offences was at its highest at a total of 40,000 offences. The graph clearly highlights a rise in the recent years for these offences, which makes it evidently clear that if we do nothing about it, this number will increase. Here at LivesNotKnives we work as a community which is why we are urging you to express your thoughts on what YOU feel like needs to change.
Your opinion matters.

FAQ
Get Informed
Why did you start the anti knife campaign LivesNotKnives?
Knife crime is something that people are affected by each and every day. You wake up and you hear in the news, that there's been stabbings and incidents related to the subject of knife crime, but yet still as a community the most we do is just 'avoid' that area. Instead of avoiding it we need to change it and that's exactly what LivesNotKnives is about, it's about change. That is the reason why LivesNotKnives was created, we want the streets to be safer for everyone.
What do you feel like the most important part of running an anti knife campaign is?
I personally feel like, the most important part of running any campaign is structure. Having a clear structure, allows you to be on top of the game and also increases your engagement with your audience. As my campaign is based around a serious matter, having structure allows it to look professional and gain the attention it deserves.
Where do you see the future of LivesNotKnives?
The future of LivesNotKnives depends on one thing and one thing only. Our audience. Having more people share out this campaign, will give us a much louder message, leading us to be able to bring the rates down and create a safer environment for all of us. I believe, that LivesNotKnives has what it takes to do this and I hope even you reading this believes that too.
